As per the ultimate wishes of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, zil gnon bka’ brgyad gling was established by the private office of the Dalai Lama in 1978 within the campus of Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts at Dhasa for the religious and political purposes of Tibet and Tibetan people. The newly constructed center was handed over to sngags ’chang ye shes rdorje gnas ’dzin. Practice center, eight teachings’ temple, residence for the monks and hotel were constructed soon after. The unique aspect of this center is to continue the religious duties undeclined. After the demise of sngags ’chang ye shes rdorje gnas ’dzin, sgo chen sprul skug sangs ngags took the leadership of the center. Today the monastery continues the traditional religious activities and rituals such as eight teaching anniversary puja, embodiment of the three jewels anniversary puja, female wrathful anniversary puja, seven-line supplication puja and fulfilling and mending puja.
