Ugyen Ling (rnying ma. Hunsur)


Under the guidance of our government and with the leadership of snang spro ngag dbang phun tshog and dbang pyug rab brtan, Ao rgyan ling was construct collectively through the effort of all the monks from the retreat center in 1973 at Hunsur Tibetan settlement. The chief relics of the monastery are a clay statue of Padmasambhava, gold and copper statue of Guru, statue of lord Buddha, the paintings of Avalokiteshvara, glorious copper-colored mountain and the eight sadhana teachings. Additionally, there are scriptural relics such as translated word of Buddha, Prajnaparamita sutra of all lengths categories and the seven treasuries of klong chen. In 1990, at the occasion of the completion of the expansion of the monastery, His Holiness the Dalai Lama has consecrated and graced the center. Today there are 26 members including bla sprul, monks, and tantric practitioners from places such as Tibet, Nepal, Mon, Ladakh and India. They study and practice klong snying, and annually perform the periodic offerings for the benefit of all the sentient beings.
